THE THREE LITTLE PIGS HD - SO OUAT! is a multi-faceted storybook with some complex teaching features. The animated images might pull kids' attention away from the printed word, but it adds another aspect to the storybook. The many educational features in the storybook (highlighting vowels, giving visual and printed definitions, displaying cursive, giving reading practice, foreign language use) help this stand out from other books. There are two modes for reading, depending on the reader's age. The mini-game can be used to teach kids to put scenes in order, but kids will also have fun putting the scenes out of order and playing the video.

On the downside? The built-in definitions could use some improvement; there are many missing definitions that would be helpful to kids, and some of the words that are defined aren't described well. But otherwise, it's a solid app that kids will enjoy.
