Imagination and wordplay make these vampire-rific adventures a lot of fun to read, engaging young readers with silliness that is both delightful and occasionally distracting. The Amelia Fang Series is much more than a simple adventure series; it explores the possible limits of empathy, the complexities of friendships, and different family makeups. The gross-out humor in naming food in the Kingdom of Dark brings both laughs and the chance for readers to make up their own disgusting food combinations.
