This is a cute and poetic story for young readers. Brown Is Warm, Black Is Bright identifies the importance and strength of the colors black and brown in the world around us, while connecting this admiration to Black lives and historical figures. Mallett's images are dreamy and soft. Readers are left with a greater appreciation for two of earth's most prevalent and beautiful colors.
