Romance fans will be sure to enjoy this cute, funny new take on the Cinderella story blended with a reality-TV contest that adds some suspense and intrigue. Although she's 22 and graduated from design school, teens will relate to narrator Cindy as she navigates her large body though a thin-person's world while learning how to find, and go after, what makes her happy. Lots of readers will also appreciate her body positivity and topics like better access to fashionable clothing. It's also refreshing to see such a positive example of a blended stepfamily and loyal, supportive friendships even in the midst of a competition.

The story moves along well and has all the elements romance fans are looking for: the meet-cute, swoon-worthy, romantic encounters, and some genuine suspense about how things will turn out. Cindy's character is well developed and well rounded, and the story has many colorful, interesting characters that feel genuine. It's a good choice for romance fans looking for a light but engaging story.
