The messages of kindness, inclusion, and care for the planet are strong in Caldecott Medalist Sophie Blackall's warm, colorful book. If You Come to Earth is a fun read-aloud with lots of opportunities to explore a young reader's own ideas about what is important and unique about the place they live and is sure to spark some interesting conversations. Emerging readers can work on sight words with lots of context from the colorful, engaging illustrations, and the idea of introducing our planet to an alien who knows nothing about it is just plain fun.
