There's a lot of information on each page, presented in small blocks of verse-like text, making this a great read-aloud for less fluent readers who might need help understanding some of the people, places, and events in Harris' life. The focus on justice, family, and public service gives readers lots of chances to talk about their own lives and family histories, and about how the past influences current events, opportunities, and communities. And Laura Freeman's vibrant digital illustrations will draw kids in. There's a timeline of Harris' life and a list of source material at the end of the book.
