In typical Twilight fashion, this book manages to be a totally engrossing read without hardly any depth at all. Bella's constant moping starts to trigger the gag reflex after awhile, especially once you realize that Jacob is hugely healthier for Bella than Edward, and not just because he's halfway human. But where would the thrills and chills be in that? As long as you don't expect this book to be something it's not (do NOT read it if you're looking for something deep and meaningful), it is a great way to pass the time. I am definitely looking forward to the film adaptation this year. I wish more "happened" - and that there was more to Bella's life than Edward, e.g. childhood friends or something - but I still enjoyed it.
