And we wonder why this generation lacks respect

the main characters are terribly disrespectful to the adults. and the reader is made to laugh at this behavior. for new readers this book is filled with poor sentences. this book is popular just as candy is more popular than veggies. so sure give them tons of candy because that is easier.

Problems with authority

Definitely not right for 7 year olds. Bad guy is the principal who hates kids and the boys can't stop doing pranks and don't really learn a lesson. It's great silly fun for older kids who have a better understanding of their boundaries. But beware with younger kids who are still learning who to trust and go to for help. Lots of "I'm going to kill you" and "you're dead" also.
