Smoking on Jackson's Island.

The Adventures of Tom Sawyer has a bit of smoking in it, but only for 1 chapter or 2. Around chapter 13, or so. I know that the smoking starts when they take a raft to Jackson's Island. Huckleberry Finn teaches Tom and Joe Harper.

Boys Getting into Trouble, Surely Not!!

This is a classic adventure book. If you are a parent, especially with boys, you know the mischief they can get up to. Times havent changed all that much. Mark Twain writes with creativity and humour which kids seem to enjoy. His portrayal of Injun Joe can be discussed both in contemporary and historical terms. This lets you explore how attitudes have changed over time. enjoy the book, my son who is 10 did and has now started reading Huck Finn
