What's it about?

In each round of DIAMOND DASH, players have 60 seconds to remove as many gems as possible from the game board by clicking on groups of three or more of the same color. For each round completed, players earn experience points towards leveling up and unlocking new bonuses and power-ups, such as Magic Fire, which causes bigger explosions when activated.

Is it any good?

QUALITY

Diamond Dash's gameplay is fairly mindless, but it was designed to be played in short bursts and is fun and lively in that context. Each round is exciting thanks to bonuses that are triggered based on speed, and provide plenty of visual and audio stimulation when active. Aside from weekly tournaments, where players can earn medals for placing in the top 3 among friends, social integration has been largely overlooked. The $9.99 USD subscription to unlock unlimited play and a few other perks seems a steep price for such a simplistic game, but the free version is a fast-paced and fun.

  • Do online leaderboards make you more competitive? Would you play the game as much if your performance wasn't ranked against your friends'?
