Upcoming racing game puts co-op spin on track competitions.

What parents need to know

Parents need to know that Fling to the Finish is an upcoming cooperative racing action game for Windows PCs. While there's no plot to the racer, there's a rather unique twist to the racing formula. Players run across the obstacle courses in the game in teams of two tethered together by a stretchable elastic rope, which prevents one player getting too far ahead of the other. This mechanic also forces players to talk to each other about everything they're going to do if they have any hope for progress or success, because the tether will get in the way of everything if you're not careful or working together. But players working in sync can use the rope to slide across logs or chains, or launch each other up walls and cliffs by sticking to the surface and boosting their partner ahead of them. Players will roll across a variety of courses, ranging from outer space stages to parks and casinos, each with their own set of hazards and traps. The initial 12 stages for the game will also change their layout each time you play a race, making it impossible to memorize the track and ensuring that players will always be challenged. The game will also launch with a solo player campaign, and multiplayer for up to eight players via splitscreen or online play. Gamers can even share a controller during matches, with the left analog stick working for player one and the right analog stick working for player two. Fling to the Finish won't feature any inappropriate content.
