What parents need to know

Parents need to know that Hidden Deep is an upcoming survival horror action game for Windows PCs. The story is set in a mysterious facility that's suddenly discovered on the ocean floor by a crew of explorers. Strange signals and anomalies are detected, and the explorers attempt to discover what's going on in this location, only to mysteriously disappear without a trace. As the commander of a second crew that's dispatched to this facility, you're tasked with trying to discover the whereabouts of the first crew and uncover what's really going on in this location. Unfortunately, as you maneuver through the halls and caves of this site, you'll quickly notice that things are clearly out of control, leading to a fast-paced quest for survival. Players will roam through more than 50 stages (broken into chapters) that tells the story of this ill-fated rescue mission. Players will need to control classes of crewmembers, such as scouts and engineers, to navigate the halls: scouts can scan their environment, while engineers can use heavy machinery and shoot monsters. There will be plenty of monsters to kill, from flying creatures to giant alien tentacles and floor-eating traps. More than 25 different beasts will be around to eat your crew. Fortunately, as commander, you can control a number of people in your crew, even potentially sending them to die if you make mistakes, but you'll have a limited number of characters than can be killed before you're forced to start the stage over again. But just because you've got lots of people at your disposal doesn't mean that you're safe. The creatures here are devious, and can even infect or imitate your crew before transforming into monsters (a la Aliens or The Thing), meaning that any one of your people could be a threat to the others. Players will use firearms to attack and kill monsters, which will splatter and break into bloody chunks, although the pixelated nature of the visuals limits the impact of the gore. Similarly, aliens can rip apart your crew in bloody ways.
