Hindsight

Parents need to know that Hindsight is a downloadable adventure game for the Nintendo Switch and Windows PCs. The game is billed as a narrative exploration game that takes place during a tense, high pressure situation for the main character, which is suddenly upended by a family emergency. Players take on the role of Mary, a young woman that's an accomplished chef living in a large city. She's under a lot of pressure because she's getting ready to open her first restaurant and build her career, only to receive the news that her mom has died. Mary returns to her childhood home to clear out her personal effects and handle the estate, knowing that she'll have to pick and select the items that are most important to her. Players will explore different spaces around the home, selecting various items that sparkle and shine when your near them. These are apertures, which act as portals to memories of Mary's life growing up. Sometimes, these glimpses will take the shape of puzzles like moving raindrops on a window or piecing together a broken mirror. Other memories will simply provide perspective on Mary's life, like a trip to the woods with her parents or learning to ride a bike as a child. At the end of a section, players will have to select an item that means the most to them, which will have it's own impact on Mary's story. There won't be any inappropriate content to be found in the game, although there will be some emotional scenes and moments that deal with the loss of a family member.
