What's it about?

LEAPFROG EXPLORER LEARNING GAME: DISNEY DOC MCSTUFFINS invites kids into the world of popular TV character Doc McStuffins. Kids help Rescue Rhonda Helicopter find toy friends who are sick or hurt. Using the doctor's tools, kids give Doc a hand as she diagnoses 24 illnesses with cute names such as "Slippy Drippies." Kids will need to use their observation skills to find a small tear using a magnifying glass or to find differences between two pictures in the patient chart. Once Doc hands down her diagnosis, kids help cure the patient. Sometimes they may give stitches (trace a dotted line) or give instructions for a cure (place pictures in the correct order). Each illness is entered into Doc's "Big Book of Boo-Boos," and Doc McStuffins reminds kids of the importance of good hygiene and good health as well as of telling an adult when they need help. Kids can look through the book later or investigate the tools in Doc's medical bag. There's also an area where kids can design their own Band-Aids and practice placing them on "Boo-Boo Bear." New designs are unlocked during the flights with Rescue Rhonda.

Is it any good?

Preschoolers will generally find LeapFrog Explorer Learning Game: Disney Doc McStuffins to be a delightful opportunity to interact with a favorite TV character while also practicing their "medical skills." The activities are age-appropriate, and most kids in this group will enjoy (rather than simply tolerate) the repetition that will crop up after extended play. A few interactive areas help round out the experience in the waiting room. If your child is a Doc McStuffins fan, he or she will get a kick out of this game.
