What parents need to know

Parents need to know that The Walking Dead: Onslaught is an upcoming action adventure virtual reality game for the Oculus Rift. Based on the popular AMC television series and the graphic novels, the game lets players take the role of characters from the show as they fight against humans and the undead in an original story. Players will use ranged weapons like pistols and machine guns, as well as melee weapons to eliminate opponents. Iconic weapons from the show, like Daryl’s crossbow and Michonne’s katana are also available to destroy enemies. Players will have the option to target limbs, cutting arms and legs off, and can even impale opponents based on how hard they swing edged weapons. There’s a hazard that these objects can become stuck in enemies as well, requiring you to change your attacks in the middle of battles to avoid becoming overwhelmed. Needless to say, the blood and gore of Onslaught is expected to be high. Players will also possibly be exposed to some strong language in the dialogue, reflective of the content of the TV show.
