What’s It About?
In YUMI'S ODD ODYSSEY, a schoolgirl named Yumi must navigate through a series of platform-based obstacles using only the ability to run, jump, and cast her fishing lure, which she can use to latch onto objects, swing, rappel, and pull herself forward. She'll have to steer clear of environmental hazards like icy walls, pools of water, and freaky-looking fish with human legs, in order to reach the door that takes her to the next level. Players' scores are ranked on a global leaderboard.
Is It Any Good?
Yumi's Odd Odyssey's controls are simple to learn but tricky to master, and the levels are very unforgiving of mistakes and don't leave much room for experimentation. If you misjudge a jump or otherwise cause Yumi's demise, you'll have to restart the level from the very beginning. Argh! The game also keeps a tally of how many times you've failed the level, which is the opposite of motivating. Yumi's Odd Odyssey is for serious platform game fans who don't mind a hefty challenge.
