Support the Health Care Stabilization Deal
Recently, the president decided to stop funding the cost-sharing reductions (CSRs) on which many families rely, threatening to throw the health insurance markets into a tailspin and raise premiums.
The Bipartisan Health Care Stabilization Act of 2017, written by Sens. Patty Murray (D-Wash.) and Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.), would restabilize the insurance markets by funding these invaluable subsidies. The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) recently determined that the bill would reduce the deficit by $3.8 billion without significantly reducing the number of Americans without health insurance.
In response, some members of Congress have released a hyperpartisan plan that includes harmful provisions for working families. The Brady-Hatch plan would repeal the requirement that employers provide insurance, which would cause millions of Americans to lose their coverage. Tell your member of Congress and senators to support the bipartisan measure to restore funding to cost-sharing reductions.
