What's the story?
ANIMAL ATLAS: ANIMAL MYSTERIES is a collection of three episodes from the award-winning television series. The colors of the animals, their legs and feet, and their survival and adaptation skills are discussed in detail while animals frolic onscreen either in what appears to be their habitats, or in zoo settings. Meercats, polar bears, rhinoceruses, and penguins -- among many others -- are shown and talked about here. At the end of each episode is a montage of animals combined with silly voices and sound effects matching their onscreen behavior.
Is it any good?
For kids ages six and younger who love animals of all varieties, Animal Atlas: Animal Mysteries is a visual feast. Animals frolic, run, chase, swim, and make faces. For kids a bit older who love animals of all varieties, this collection also includes fast-paced narration that explains why animals look and behave the way they do in the wild.
Most parents probably haven't received this much information about animals since cramming for the final exam in science class. Complex scientific theory is mentioned in passing quite often. While this isn't a bad thing, it can be difficult to keep up, even for adults.
