James Cameron's Avatar

Avatar is extremley complex, and a true visual marvel! With cool characters, anmails, plants, and more this flim will shock audiness! The movie is so beautiful, and brainy. But is Avatar okay for your kids? There is some exremely intense violence. Many major characters are also killed. The realstic special effects make this even more scary. The Na'vi were little clothing. In one seen Neytiri breats are evedent but not fully seen. Jake and Neytiri also flirt, kiss, and have sex. Strong Langage also is a big factor in this flim. Avatar is fine for kids 13 and up. Avatar is a amazing , and wellmade epic! James Cameron delivers another masterpeice!

Dazzling, epic, emotional, and jarring

This was a great film, with nice special effects and creative storytelling. While it seems rather familiar at this point, it still represents James Cameron's amazing plot techniques. There are positive messages and role models, but also lots of violence, plus some sex, language, and smoking. Also, it inspired tons of toys, apps and a video game, so kids will probably want them after seeing this movie. I would call this my second favorite James Cameron film, after Titanic.

Great film, but also very emotional and violent

This is a great classic film, but it is very emotional and violent. This movie also has a lot of strong language. There are some great role models and some bad ones so if you know your kids can handle it than I say Let them see it. You know you have done something wrong if you kid is not upset at some of the sad scenes

There is some blood, but it's only a small amount. Sensuality: Nothing Major, just kissing and touching Language: lots of language including ''b**ch'',''s**t'', and ''d**n', but no F-words. Best selling movie has great effects and lacks story. Tweens and up.

You need to know that "Avatar" is a pure mainstream movie by director James Cameron (who did a great job on "Terminator"). It is visually striking, the effects are impressive and at the highest level. The script is pretty predictable, however. The story is not very original, but acceptable. Sometimes it seems a bit familiar. Sigourney Weaver hasn't got the chance to show her acting skills much as she did in the Alien-series. This is not an art movie or a mature drama, it is supposed to be entertaining, and so it does. For being the best selling movie of all time, and its superb visual effects it definitely a must-see. The violence in this movie is not bloody, it has epic and lengthy battle sequences. It is bloodless and not too brutal. It goes not beyond what younger viewers are used to - the violence is not stronger then in other fantasy movies such as "The Chronicles of Narnia"-movies, which were rated PG. There is mild curse language, too, but it is not what goes beyond what is suitable for tweens. This movie is at the PG side of a PG-13. Suitable for viewers 10 and up.

Great movie!

Honestly parents, don't act like your kids have never heard and seen what's in this movie (Often worse with V and L) if they have been on youtube before. This is basicly the best sci-fi ever made, and many of the other best ones are James Cameron also (Aliens, Terminator, etc.). They swear constantly, but it's the military, what were you expecting? Heres a tip for parents though: The extended version (8 minutes extra) is more violent, involving a couple more -short- intense battle scenes, and a somewhat extended death-scene right after the last battle.

Uses the LORD's name in vain

WHY did John Cameron have to blaspheme GOD's name? Cursing GOD adds nothing to a movie, it only takes away. Please don't pay money to support this language.

sad, violent thriller is perfect for mature teens

this was a hard film to sit through. its 2 hours of nonstop violence, sad deaths and peril, swearing, and smoking. the violence is very graphic and intense, with many deaths of main characters, some of which are very prolonged and sad, heavy fighting with guns, arrows, bombs, and other weapons. the tree destruction is very graphic and disturbing. the language is frequent, some scenes not going a second without swearing, and there is a plentiful amount of smoking.

Avatar Review

Humans go on Pandora and try to conquer it. They infiltrate the Na’vi by making clones of the Na’vi. The clones report back to the humans. A clone falls in love with the Na’vi and decides to fight the humans by gathering all the tribes on the planet. The humans and Na’vi fight, and the Na’vi’s win. This movie is requires a lot of patience because it is quite long. Therefore, you have to bring a lot of popcorn. Jake Sully is a crippled human who went to Pandora to replace his dead brother. When he arrives on Pandora, he enters the science division, and gains an avatar. The avatar is a copy of the Na’vi, which are a tribe of giant, blue, humanoid lemurs. He infiltrates the Na’vi’s clan to gather information on how to destroy their shelter. Jake learns the culture of the Na’vis and falls in love with the girl who taught him. He rebels against the humans and goes to war with them. He gathers all the tribes of Pandora and they fight an epic battle. At the end, Jake has to fight his ex-boss. He wins and is about to die, but the girl he loves saves him from death. He becomes the new leader of the Na’vi. The weakness is that it’s a common plot. The hero falls in love but isn’t allowed to stay with the Na’vi. He rebels against his own kind so he can fight for himself and the things he loves. In the end, he wins, as expected. The strength was that the graphics and special effects were awesome. It was in 3D. The creatures in the movie were very well thought out. The planet had a lot of different environments, such as giant trees, and floating mountains. I think the people who would like the movie avatar are people who like imaginary creatures, like dragons. Other people that like it are environmentalists, because the Na’vis are always “communicating” with nature. The other people who would like it are people who like having bullets and arrows fly into your face, because of the 3D.

Avatar is excellent! But intense.

In the epic James Cameron's Avatar, there is some coarse language added in with some sequences of intense fantasy violence including the warfare. It is best left for older tweens.

two thumbs up

It is a good movie, there is a lot of swearing and Dr. Rice smokes, there is a war/masicore, and at one point there was s**. Other than that, it was a great movie. There are positive charaters, a strong lead lady and loyal main charator. While training with the natives, the forest and them really change him into a better man. If you haven't seen it, enjoy.

Avatar.

This action epic tale of survival is a must see by James Cameron. Though the story is sometimes rough, the heart in it is that a disabled man has the commitment to not follow his orders and protect a planet called Pandora. But parents beware: there are some extremely frightening and violent scenes that some children cannot watch because of the intensity of them. There is one brief mating scene (kissing) plus flirting, and the Na'vi are barely dressed. There is lots of strong language (s--t, holy s--t, bulls--t) and milder words, but there are no F-bombs. Although this film has some content that is not for kids, Avatar is fine for mature 12-year-olds and up.

Avatar 101

Avatar is an great movie for kids 11+. The language I can handle, but the naked people was RIDICULOUS!! Like why-wear-any-clothes naked! O_O The messages the movie is sending are good though - The People (blue people) are working together and are always watching out for each other. Another thing I liked was that The People were trying the preserve their earth and the other people were destroying it. Again, I would say only 11 year olds should watch this movie. Thanks for reading :)
