Parent of a 5 and 8 year oldWritten by3guysandagalSeptember 11, 2010
Although I"m ok with this movie I could've done without the
"f-a-r-t" word.....didn't see that one coming. It was said so fast that I don't think my two boys heard it, but I did and was quite shocked. Overall my two enjoyed it, but wish that one word had been left out altogether....no need for it at all.
This movie was alright, I thought it was going to be better, but it was fine. The reason I saw this was because I am fond of Steve Carell who voices Gru and he did quite well. The reason I rated it iffy for age 8 was because I think they might think it was not as captivating as Ramona and Beezus, the reason was it was quite long and some heart felt moments might seem boring because there is nothing for them to laugh at but there isn't anything bad in it.
I liked this movie. It wasn't the best movie I've seen, but it wasn't the worst either. The movie started out as Gru wanted to steal the moon but in the end, he learns to be a good parent to three girls he adopted.
Although I am a teenager, I absolutely LOVED this movie. I've seen it twice and I think it's adorable. The animation is so well done and I love the characters. Agnes is my favorite, but I also really like Gru's minions. Gru is a character who is a hardened villian at the beginning of the movie, but he falls in love with these three little girls he adopts from an orphanage and it turns out that he's meant to be a hero and a good parent.

All my kids loved this movie and have been begging me to take them to see it again and already asking for it for Christmas. I also enjoyed it a lot! Probably one of the best movies we have seen this summer.

Well, the movie has its funny parts. Most parts are pretty weak, though. Not worth going to see it in a theater, rent it at Blockbuster when its on DVD. Also, it is pretty sad when the orphanage treats the 3 girls like crap.
