Less hand-to-hand combat, but still a very violent sequel.

Pretty Good...

You know, I think it's great. Great on TV. I don't know how anyone would care to watch a movie with a sware in every sentance. It is also very offensive to both black and white people. When John is walking around NYC with a sign hanging over his neck saying I Hate N*****s. Besides that, I think it was great.

More Excellence

Incredibly entertaining. Funny and violent. Samuel L Jackson is perfect partner for Bruce Willis. Plot revolves around terrorist/bomb threat in New York City. Bombs blow up city blocks and kill innocent people; many more are placed around the city and in a school filled with small children. Sporatic violence: gunshots produce spurts of blood, an innocent man's neck is slashed multiple times causing blood to spray out all over walls, a man's head is pushed barely offscreen and shot point blank resulting in lots of blood and brains splattering over walls and people, a man is cut in half by a wire (at a distance but clearly visable onscreen), villan kills innocent people with no remorse, and as usual McLane is soaked in blood most of the movie. Constant strong language: almost every sentence contains explicit language, around 100 uses of f--- alone, with just as much with other foul words, constant use of the N-word by and against black people, McLane is forced to walk into Harlem with a sign saying "I HATE N******" (not censored in film). Racism is a very big topic here, and is suprisingly thoughtful. McLane drinks and is addicted to painkillers.

Good movie, but not intended for kids

This is the 3rd movie in the Die Hard franchise and one of my favorites. As always, John McClane is stuck in bad situation and has to save the day, this time alongside a racist black man from NYC. Violence is extreme with lots of blood. There are 98 uses of f--k and drug use.

Explosive, fun, and thrilling, just as good as the original!

The 3rd installment is just as thrilling and just as great as the 1988 action classic! It's full of full throttle action and a really good villain!

Violent third movie in the series.

This a great movie! There's some intense violence (nothing to gory.) The R rating comes a ton of language. If language bothers you than this an easy skip, but if your like me and language doesn't bother you, than your ok.

Die Hard with a Vengeance movie review

When people ask me what the most underrated movie is, I tell them "Die Hard with a Vengeance". Many critics didn't like this movie and some even panned it. I don't know why. "Die Hard with a Vengeance" is the perfect "Die Hard" sequel for me. The movie starts out very fast-paced and it reminds me of the movie "Speed". It starts out very fast and I loved it. Unlike the first two "Die Hard" movies, this movie is an adrenaline rush from the beginning. The villain played by Jeremy Irons was so cool. I loved his intelligence. To him, killing John McClane is "one of life's little bonuses". He is a despicable character like the villains in "Die Hard" and "Die Hard 2". I would still say that Hans Gruber is my favorite "Die Hard" villain, but Jeremy Irons' character comes as a close second. In this movie, you see John McClane as a broken man and I loved how it showed that. The main problem critics had with the movie was that it had way too many turns and twist. In my opinion, the movie's turns were not that bad. I actually enjoyed it. The action in this movie is inferior to the first movie. I still liked the action sequences a lot. Samuel L. Jackson is amazing in this movie. He is so funny and he is very inappropriate. His chemistry with Bruce Willis was so good. I actually thought "Die Hard with a Vengeance" could have been the best "Die Hard" movie. My only problem with this movie was that the end felt completely separate from the rest of the movie. It felt very isolated. That still didn't take away from my overall enjoyment of the movie. The rest of the movie was so much fun that I would give it four and half out of five stars if I could. Is it as good as "Die Hard"? No, but it is better than the other "Die Hard" sequels. If you are a person who likes to watch action movies, I strongly suggest "Die Hard with a Vengeance". It is one of the most underrated movies ever made . "Die Hard with a Vengeance" is the definition of summer movie popcorn fun.

Die Hard: With a Vengeance review

========================================================= Sex/Nudity: Simon throws his girlfriend to a table and rips open her shirt, exposing her black bra. There's a sound of him unzipping his pants and he then gets on top of her, but nothing else is seen. 3/10. ========================================================= Violence: A building is blown up in downtown N.Y. and nearby cars are flipped over. Zeus whacks one of his nephews with a rolled up paper for unknowingly running stolen goods for a local thug. A young punk throws a switchblade into a sign that John's wearing. A buddy of his bounces a basketball off John's head and another threatens him with knife. One of them then smashes a bottle against John's head and another accidentally cuts Zeus' arm with a knife. Zeus then grabs John's gun and gets him into a cab (and holds the gun to the cabbie's head to make him drive away) and the punks immediately attack and smash the windows. McClane drives over parked bikes and sidewalk tables as he races to meet one of Simon's deadlines. A bomb explodes in a subway tunnel, derailing a train and causing it to crash through the terminal, injuring some people. A man is shot dead in a tunnel. Simon's men inject other people with tranquilizers, rendering them unconscious. A guard fires his shotgun at Simon and his men. Simon's girlfriend then sneaks up behind the guard with a curved knife and graphically slices and stabs the guard to death. McClane shoots and kills several of Simon's men in an elevator. McClane shoots and kills two of Simon's men in a dump truck. Parents throw food at the police chief after they're not satisfied with his actions regarding the reported bomb in one of the city's schools. McClane has a gun battle with two men in a pickup truck. They smash into other cars until the pickup flips over and the two men are killed. A man is cut in half by a cable that zips by him. McClane smashes a guy with a door aboard a ship. Simon shoots and injures Zeus with a machine gun. McClane shoots one man dead and then gets into a violent fight with one of Simon's men. The man smashes McClane into a cargo container and kicks him several times. McClane then stabs the man in the leg and hits him with a heavy chain. Simon's girlfriend shoots and kills one of Simon's close associates. Simon shoots at McClane while both are in helicopters. John's is shot down and Simon continues to shoot at him until McClane disposes of the bad guys. 9/10. ========================================================= Blood/Gore: After a violent encounter in Harlem, John's head is bloody and Zeus has a bloody gash on his arm. Many of the people injured or killed throughout the movie are bloody. Simon's girlfriend slices a guard's throat with a curved knife and lots of blood sprays out. She then repeated stabs him and even more blood spills from his body. McClane shoots and kills several of Simon's men in an elevator. Lots of blood is spilled and sprayed onto the elevator's walls. A man is cut in half by a cable that zips by him. Later, McClane and Zeus drag his body away, one dragging the upper half, the other, the lower half (the actual body parts are not seen). McClane is rather bloody after a fight with one of Simon's men who is also bloody. 7.5/10. ========================================================= Profanity: At least 92 "f" words (10 with the prefix "mother" and 1 used sexually), 65 "s" words, 3 slang terms for male genitals ("pr*ck" and "d*ck"), 26 asses (12 used with "hole"), 24 hells, 9 damns, 4 S.O.B.'s, 2 bitches, 1 jerk-off, and 24 uses of "G-damn," 3 uses each of "Jesus" and "Jesus Christ," 2 uses each of "Christ," "Good Lord," and "God," and 1 use each of "My God," "Oh my God," and "Oh God" as exclamations. 9/10. ========================================================= Alcohol/Drugs: John is hung-over at the beginning of the story and his captain tells Simon that John is "two steps from being a full blown alcoholic." At the same time, John is mouthing that he's only one step away. A young punk on the street drinks from a brown paper bag. The bad guys celebrate their success with champagne. 2/10. ========================================================= Smoking: John smokes a cigarette. A woman smokes a cigarette. 1.5/10. ========================================================= Die Hard: With a Vengeance, while not as good as the first Die Hard, is still a great film, and is definitely even better than the second film. I give it 8/10. =========================================================

not as good as the first 2, but still delivers the thrills

compared to the first 2 Die Hard films, this one is not as good as its predecessors. that still doesn't mean it is still a blast of fun and quality action. and although the film has less violence and deaths, some of the scenes and the constant strong language means that this film is for older action buffs. this movie has less blood than the previous films, but there is till lots of violence. there are 3 massive explosions that destroy a subway, a store, and a boat. people are shot, often with blood spray, beaten, stabbed, sliced, have their throats slit, and in one case, cut in half. the main characters are covered in blood during some scenes. nearly all the characters swear using almost any word imaginable, and John is seen wearing a racist sign. John also talks about his hangover and smokes cigarettes a lot

Most Enjoyable Die Hard...and the least questionable.

The Die Hard movies have always been incredibly entertaining, hard-R rated Indiana Jones adventures for adults. DIE HARD 3 is no exception. However, though it is just as entertaining, it is also less questionable than its predecessors. Though it deserves its R rating (mainly for language), it could prove a better alternative to the other two films. Violence is pretty much your standard John McClane stuff: people are shot and held hostage. Some perish when building or helicopters explode. However, unlike the previous Die Hard movies, only a few of these violent acts are very graphic. Though most feature some blood, only a shoot-out on a boat and a brief attack on terrorists in an elevator are explicit. This movie relies more heavily on stunts than violence. The pervasive language is the big reason for the R rating. There are more than 100 "f" words, but most are said quickly out of frustration and are not sexual in context. There are also some derogatory racial terms. A man and a woman briefly start to make out (he opens her shirt to reveal her bra) but they are interrupted by a big bang (literally). Parents should still view this before watching it with their teen to make sure it's appropriate, but you have a better chance with this Die Hard than the others.
