It has a lot of drinking and some swearing and sexual innuendo, but in the end, Dirty 30 isn't really all that dirty (or controversial or scandalous). But it does mostly work, largely thank to great chemistry between its three female leads. The trio -- all played by popular YouTube personalities -- are believable as high school friends facing turning 30.

Mamrie Hart is confident in the leading role. But you may find yourself wishing she had more to sink her teeth into. Because although the movie comes off without much of a hitch (and the setup is clever), there's nothing much fresh or original for her to mine. Plus, the movie's romantic aspects seem like formulaic plot twists that aren't really necessary. Better to have focused on the friendships in this surprisingly solid film.
