my 7 year old daughter has been asking to watch what I consider to be "older" movies. My husband and younger son were away so we watched it together. Some decidedly scary moments but real life issues. Afterwards we had the greatest conversation about priorities and sacrifice. And adventure. The movie made for good discussion. Both of us loved the movie and now I know she's ready for some carefully chosen PG movies that we will watch together.

Took me by surprise! Awesome!
I wasn't expecting this to be a great movie. It looked like those "heartwarming" family films that I really dislike. I was pleasantly surprised to find that this was really a GREAT movie. Every kid will love the dogs and everyone else will love the story.
I never saw the whole movie, but what I did see made me want to leave!
I almost cried, and I begged my mom to let me leave the theater. I hated seeing the dogs die, and I thought it might be heart-breaking for anyone who loves dogs!
