Awesome movie overall. I rate it PG-13 for brief sexual content and language.

Good for younger teens and good also for adults

This is a very good movie. Bill Murry is at his best here. A good movie to sit back and relax and have a good time with lots of laughs. I think that younger teens will love this movie and so will adults. The only thing to look out for is some cuss words (not bad though) and some suicide experiments. But other than that awesome movie that you can watch over and over.

A Moving and Funny Movie...

This is a great movie. It is well-written, well-acted, and very positive and moving. It boasts positive messages about love and redemption, to boot. Sex is really the only issue in the movie (outside of some mild, comic suicide attempts by Murray's character). He seduces women, and manipulates one woman for sex with knowledge from her past. You see them tumbling and kissing passionately on the bed in one scene, but nothing explicit is shown. Also, some men are seen to be drunk.

There's just a few iffy things, but it was awesome!

I just watched this today and it was a pretty funny movie. I really liked it and thought it had a great message. The swearing was kept to a nice minimum, but there were a few sexual things that weren't appropriate for younger audiences. No nudity at all, just lots of making out in two 2-minute scenes, and a reference to the main character "making love like a sea lion" with a woman on the Virgin Islands (ironic, isn't it?). Also, there are a few suicidal scenes that might disturb younger viewers, such as when he drives a car off a cliff (he isn't seen, just the car), jumps off a building (we don't see him hit the ground, but we see his pale face in a morgue), and electrocutes himself (the scene cuts as he grabs the toaster to the hotel's electricity going out in the diner).

WARNING: Movie Can Make Others Think About Suicide

Groundhog Day is comical and has a moral to it but it has some violence and cussing that can be inappropriate for kids. But, there is a moral in a way that can be unexplained to children to get out of the time spell. Some kids might get that you have to be a good man to break the time spell/loop. But, throughout the movie to break the time spell there are some obstacles. Phil keeps on attempting suicide only to learn that he is alive the next day. Also, be on the look out for bad language or cussing. Mature kids may be able to get away with it but for little kids, parents should watch it with them and watch your kids and what they do.

Great film, but should've been PG-13.

This film deals a lot with sexual content, and sex before marriage is praised. Other than that, this is an excellant film.

Groundhog Day 2005

A good film overall, but not for young kids as he commits suicide endless times because he lives forever. Also there is a little sex in it but overall I like the film though it gets repetitive and boring.

OMG, best movie EVER!!!!!!!!

I don't gush to often when it comes to movies, but this is an exception. I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!! I could see it over and over without getting tired of it. I saw this for the first time when I was 9, and have adored it ever since. The sexual behavior and violence (Phil tries to commit suicide many ways), are iffy for under ten, but other than that, it's perfectly fine. The message is good, (Phil learns to be a good person by the end), and Rita with her always-optimistic but strong personality, is a great role model for girls.

good

i jsut recently saw this for the first time and i loved it, i think it should be rated pg! sure he does seduce women, and says he loves them when he doesn't mean it and only wants a one night stand, but its nothing you won't see in most movies, and he learns to care about other people. i thought it was great.

LEARNING

Recommended!!!

This is a very good film staring Bill Murray which is suitable in my opinion 10+. Violence - Phil commits suicide in many ways but at 5:59 on the next morning he rewinds one day, he also tries to help an old poor man but what ever Phil tries, the man keeps dying. Language - At first Phil is very unkind and says unkind things to other people and acts very rude. Sexy Stuff - One day Phil gets information about a women and when he relives that day, he lies to her, 'I sat next to you in 12th grade', and the women says, 'Wow it's been a long time' even though she has never met Phil in her life, and in the evening Phil romantically snogs her very disturbingly. Drinking/Drugs/Smoking - At one point Phil smokes. But this is a great film

Groundhog Day 101

Groundhog Day is a funny romance! There are a few suggestive lines. This man also attempts suicide several times. If these scenes are fast-forwarded, 7+.

Okay

Cute Bill Murray film that's just as iffy as Scrooged. There is two scenes of mushiness, but Phil is a good person who makes it his job to help people. It includes suicide, though.

Fun on different levels for kids and adults

very clever and funny; some of the references will go over kids' heads; positive message that it is possible to learn to be a better person and that true happiness comes from that. That kind of message can be super sappy but not with this movie!

Hilarious, young kids might not get the comedy

This movie is a hilarious fantasy movie. Phil's suicide attempts are very funny, but young children might not understand them. When Phil also uses his previous knowledge from the other days on women, it might not be a great message, but it is really funny. Overall, really funny, but younger kids might not get the humor.
