Darker than the Macguire Version

As an adult, I like it better than the Toby Macguire version, but not by much. I feel like Parker has a bit more depth this time. The effects are amazing. There are lots of scary parts including a truly vicious man/lizard hybrid. Also, even though he's the bad guy, I found the scenes where the lizard man is shot by a group of police officers and later blasted several times with a shotgun to be pretty intense. It's darker, waaaay more scary, and has more shooting and blood than the Toby version; there's also a fairly long suggestive scene where Peter has his shirt off and is having his wounds tended to by Gwen Stacy.

not enough lizard in mostly satisfying superhero movie

7/10 stars. The movie needs more superhero fighting action, otherwise it's really great movie with humor, great action/music/special effects, and good acting.

The Amazing Spider-man

Amazing Spider-man is my personal favorite spider-man movie. I think it is definitely darker, scarier, and more intense than the others. The Lizard is a pretty scary villain and may be disturbing to some. There isn't much gore, but in one scene a mouse is shown eating another mouse. Spider-man gets beaten up pretty badly in some fight scenes. The Lizard's transformations are also pretty scary. I really enjoyed this movie, but it is more intense and violent than the first three, but overall it was very good.

The AMAZING Spider-Man!

The Amazing Spider-Man, the new series of movies, starts with a bang. Although the story of Peter Parker is told differently, this does not mean it lacks the excitement, and, perhaps, importance of the 2002 Spider-Man movie. Andrew Garfield compliments the role of Parker/Spider-Man, and although he is playing the same character as Tobey Maguire, perhaps they are the same person but in a sense the actor makes the character who they are. This doesn't mean that there is more violence in this movie, nor less, but it is definitely a must-see movie for EVERYONE, no matter when that time comes.

Amazing.

The Amazing Spider-Man is like it's namesake, amazing. Andrew Garfield takes over from Tobey Maguire in the reboot of the Spider-Man franchise and delivers a great portrayal of spidey. Emma Stone is incredible as Gwen Stacy. Now the postive message is pretty much like the original movie. Andrew Garfield's Peter is a good role model but not like Tobey Maguire's Peter. There is not a lot of violence but when there is it is quite intense. The scene where Peter's beloved uncle is killed by a gunshot is quite bloody. Also SPOILER: Gwen's dad Cap Stacy is impaled by the Lizard and dies shortly after. The sexual content in this movie is as follows: Peter, not knowing about his spider powers, touches a woman's shirt to apologize to her and when not able to take his hand off of her another guy pushes Peter away ripping off her shirt revealing her bra. Peter and Gwen also kiss sometimes passionately. There is some mild profanity but Peter does exclaim a unfinished Mother---- as well as a slang version of it (Mother Hubbard). Thanks for reading.

very good

Good. Not nerdy at all. No I'm serious, it's only slightly for geeks. Everyone will like it, the among of people who like comic book films like marvel is more than you think. This film is really good, not unsuitable just violent. Ish.

Action-Packed Story

Th Amazing Spider-Man is a great movie, but not as good as the first three. A tween could easily handle this. The only real issue is the violence. This action-packed story has fairly mild violence, and some brief blood. There is some mild language and very mild sexual content. I'd say 10+ can handle this. 10+

Spidey the Jerk.

It completely a-okay for young spidey fans. But fanboys will be disappointed for Andrew Garfield is no Tobey. The remake makes Spider man out to be a jerk. When Spider Man sees his own Uncle in trouble he doesn't even run to him. He treats people with no respect. He doesn't do anything to prove he is a hero but be a jerk.

3 AND A HALF STARS - Good but not as good as original.

Hi, Epicboy21 again. THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN is less-than-perfect, though EMMA STONE manages to save her screen-time up. So, the basic yada-yada - Spider-Man has feisty (easily angered, willing to stand up), love interest Gwen Stacy (played by the gorgeous Emma Stone), in which Peter Parker, her boyfriend (Andrew Garfield) finds this suitcase, a mysterious one, and finds mysterious photos in it. Meanwhile, he goes up to the lab and gets bitten by the spiders; this misses a whole lot. I'll list the numerous problems in this movie: i. Animal violence - three-legged mice and a mouse eating another mouse through meat. ii. Not enough Emma Stone - I wish there was more for her. iii. I wish it was longer - it was addicting. iv. Violence not impactful enough. - Violence does include a; bloody shooting, a mugging, a robbery, and, fist-fights, etc., etc., etc. v. They missed out the boxing scene altogether. vi. Not enough development for Curt Connors. vii. They cut the swinging scene short. viii. The lab scenes were too short. ix. They missed out the hallucinations scene. x. They messed it up a little bit. Anyway; For SEX/NUDITY, there's forceful kissing, a woman accidentally stripped to bra and undies, and, revealing suits, too. For VIOLENCE/GORE, there's a well-known mugging involving a stabbing, mice eating other mice, three-legged-mice, fist-fights, and, bloody wounds. PLUS, THERE'S A SEVERED TAIL THAT GROWS BACK. For PROFANITY, there's an F-word pun (mother Hubbard) that can be easily missed or not. There's also "a--". SCARINESS involves a scary monster called the Lizard-Man, and the train sequence, the mugging, the final fight, the hiding scenes, are pretty intense, too. DRUGS involves a gassing of lots of police officers; THEMES include MURDER, REVENGE, GENETIC ENGINEERING and SCIENCE EXPERIMENTING. Thankyou for reading this.

Spidey's back

Another fun spidey movie has arrived! Any fan of spider man has to watch this but there is lots of gross kissing and one bloody scene. The lizard may frighten young kids but probably not anybody 8+. The violence makes me think that it's ok for 9+ and Grade B+

Very Entertaining Movie

This movie has violence that could scare younger or immature kids. I think someone 9 and up with an average maturity could handle this movie, even if a few scenes might be considered somewhat intense. There are scenes of romantic suggestion as well as kissing. I would let my very bright 9 year old son watch it with his mother and I present, but not my 7 year old daughter, who wouldn't be interested in this type of movie anyway unless it had a princess or talking butterfly in it, or something like that. In regard to message and role model, Peter Parker is a teenager who struggles with his emotions due to his parents leaving him and his uncle being murdered. Due to these circumstances, he may come across as another self-absorbed and mildly rebellious typical teenager, motivated by revenge and using his new power as a tool. That's the main message though, using his power responsibly, but the young protagonist must learn it firsthand and makes mistakes along the way. Despite all of that, as Spiderman, you can see that he has a strong sense of justice and ultimately strives to do the right thing in spite of his underdeveloped emotional intelligence and lack of awareness of objectivity, both often associated with kids of his age. With the wisdom and guidance of his kind-hearted grandparents, Peter is an overall good person who tries to do the right thing, and the movie portrays him with great character and good person. Despite some human flaws, P.Parker as Spiderman is portrayed as every bit the hero that has kept his story alive for generations. Sometimes, due to inexperience, mistakes are made but he always learns from them, ultimately becoming a better person on his path to the altruistic and self-sacrificing hero your friendly neighborhood Spiderman is known for.
