What parents need to know

Parents need to know that The Current War is a historical drama about Thomas Edison and George Westinghouse's fierce competition to develop the electrical system that would power the world. Although the name Edison has become synonymous with the light bulb, that wasn't always the case. In the late 19th century, there were two competing current systems, one invented by Thomas Edison (Benedict Cumberbatch) and backed by J.P. Morgan (Matthew Macfadyen), the other from George Westinghouse (Michael Shannon) with support from Nikola Tesla (Nicholas Hoult). This surprisingly fierce, often forgotten moment in history shaped modern society as we know it. Expect some strong language, sensuality, and intense drama.
