Finale As Strong As First Two. As Dark As Dark Knight

I just finished watching this, and just wow. Just wow! Christopher Nolan has brought as masterful telling of Batman to the big screen, once again. This director certainly knows what he is doing. Dark Knight Rises follows 8 years after Dark Knight, Bruce lives alone, Gotham is mostly enjoying peace. However, Bane, a guerilla terrorist, soon takes over Gotham, and Batman, now stuck in prison, must become the hero that Gotham still needs, after his years of being an outlaw. This film is just amazing. But just like Dark Knight, this film is very dark. There is a ton of violence, ranging from neck-breaking, stabbing, gunplay, and tons of menacing images. Explosions, fist-fights, and drowning also serve up some of the action in this finale. We see a high body count, in the film, from civilians, prisoners, rebels, police officers, and a ton more thrown in. There are a ton of sad deaths, and the threat of a nuclear bomb as well. There is a sex scene in the film, a ton of swearing, and a major scene in a bar. There are also a ton of mature depiction of terrorism mixed into it as well. But if you child handled Dark Knight fine, they should handle this one as well. The message deals very much with terrorism, chaos, fear, death, and despair. But it also tells powerful messages about responsibility, hope, sacrifice, the good of a person, and the power that one person can have. Bruce is still not a perfect role model, but he is still the hero we have loved in these films, and he learns that Batman is who he truly is. Gordon, Fox, also show signs of powerful willingness to protect Gotham. Also newcomer John Blake, is a very amazing character, willing to die to protect Gotham as well. Catwoman learns to be more selfless by the end of the film. In the end, it was a very worthy finale, with an ending, that makes you wonder, even after the film is over. Rating all three films, 1:Batman Begins 2: Dark Knight Rises 3:Dark Knight.

Great Finale to a Great Series

This movie is fine for ages 10 and up. There is non-stop action violence, some innuendo and a scene that implies some... *wink, wink*. This movie's main villain is Bane, a crazed mercenary with a respirator. I would have to say, the Joker was a tad better as a villain, but you will enjoy Bane. There is suspense, and some twists (and a very surprising ending) to this grand finale.

This incredible finale to Nolan's Batman trilogy is dark, violent, and emotional

"The Dark Knight Rises" is fantastic, no doubt. Most people loved "Batman Begins" and "The Dark Knight" (they are some of the best films ever made, not just great Batman movies). This movie is an epic and satisfying conclusion to Bruce Wayne's journey, and many kids will want to see it. But beware, this movie is EDGY. First of all, you need to know about Bane. He is an awesome villain, but he does things that are shocking, like breaking necks and full-on shooting. He kills people (innocents and his own men) without breaking a sweat, and he is scary. Most scenes involving bane will frighten younger kids. As far as language goes, there are a few salty words (damn, hell, etc). This movie has massive amounts of action. It is clean, because it is bloodless (for the most part), but hundreds of deaths are implied. This may disturb younger kids. No sex or sexual innuendo aside from kissing, and a scene where Wayne is shirtless and kissing a woman. Some scenes show Bruce/Batman undergoing intense pain and suffering, which can even shock adults. The violence has a menacing, dark edge to it. Younger kids will not see the deeper messages and symbolism is the film, so they may not be affected as much by the sheer emotional depth. I almost cried during one scene. This movie really is epic. It is not as good as the Dark Knight, but it is epic. The action scenes are mind blowing and intense, and the musical score by Hans Zimmer is excellent. There are deep, thought provoking questions about justice, life, death, and rebirth. The acting is incredible. Christian Bale delivers his best performance of his career, aswell as his best performance in the trilogy. Tom Hardy blew it out of the water as Bane, and Anne Hathaway is spectacular as Selina Kyle/ Catwoman. It is about so much more than just the great superhero that Batman is (although Batman does awesome stuff). As much as your kids will want to see it, be warned about the content (violence, sadism, etc.). Definetely a movie for teenagers and older. Fantastic A+ movie.

The dark knight rises

I think that alot of people that are doing these reviews are saying it needs to be teens and stuff. I saw this movie when i was 11 by myself and i was perfectly fine with it. The language is not really that much. Neither is the Sex. The only thing is the violence. But i dont think its that bad. Any tween should definenitly be able to see it.

A SEVENTH MOVIE TO THE SUPERHERO SEQUEL

This is movie had so many violent scenes. There were massive explosions, killing, gun shots, neck breakings etc. In one scene people are playing football when all of a sudden the field starts to collapse and fall into the ground. It is because of the bad guy who did this. You see them fall in and it could be disturbing for your children. There is kidnapping but they escape and there is also a scene where Batman is fighting the bad guy. It becomes very intense and Batman starts to bleed. When Batman falls to the floor the bad guy starts kicking him and beating him up. There is also another scene where Batman is hanging with his hands on the chains and people start hitting him. You see bruises and blood. There is sex in this movie. Batman and his couple have sex but it does not show anything. After you see her not wearing anything. You don't see anything just her chest. There is some language in this movie. Bitch, hell, idiot, hag, shit etc. There is one scene where adults are drinking cocktails but nothing happens. They do not get drunk. Overall I would let teens ages 14 and up watch this movie because it is very inappropriate. With all the sex, the language, and the violence it is not a kids movie.

this is almost as good as the Dark Knight . this is a great , impressive and action-packed ending trilogy .

This movie have lots of violence, but violence is not graphic. This veery dark, intensive and pretty scary and realistic. The film is between the oppressive atmosphere and very violent scenes

Again, Common Sense takes it the wrong way.

One scene with kissing. One, and you markl it as having sexual content. ??? Aside the reveiw from the website, this blew me away. Batman Begins was a good movie, but The Dark Knight and Rises are even better. Zimmer returns with yet another epic soundtrack, and the action scenes are great. I'll compare Bane with the Joker in this review. Both are great villains, but they have their flaws. The Joker likes to build up tension, eg: his 'dead' body is pulled into a room, for him to get up and threaten Gambol for close to a minute before killing him. However, he relies on terrifying and/or confusing his enemies to gain the upper hand: the joker is a bad fighter. In contrast, Bane doesn't build up tension: he smashes in and then wreaks havoc. He doesn't concentrate on individuals (aside from Batman and a scientist) but he attacks groups of people. And don't get me wrong, he is the best fighter in the known world. It took me five minutes to think of another fiction character who is as good a fighter as he is, deciding on TF2's Heavy Weapons Guy, who CAN SURVIVE DIRECT HITS FROM ROCKETS, and carries a minigun as another man would carry a pistol. However Bane is by no means scary by the age of 11, and although the Joker improvised a lot in his plans, Bane didn't strike me as clever or subtle. However, both villains are great! If a sequel trilogy is made, I want scarecrow to be the main bad guy, he is the only villain to survive the trilogy (Bane, Ra's al Ghul, Talia al Ghul and Two-Face/Harvey Dent die) who wasn't punished for his crimes (The Joker is captured and sent to jail).

If it wasn't a Batman movie it wouldn't have got so many good reviews.

CAUTION: SOME SPOILERS AHEAD, IT'S NOT THAT GREAT OF A MOVIE ANYWAY BUT STILL SPOILERS, YOU'VE BEEN WARNED! Low on action, a bit of humor. The story isn't that good. The acting was average. The CGI was okay. This movie is boring, I even dosed off during parts like hmm... oh yeah Batman. Batman sounds like he has laryngitis and looks like he needs to use the bathroom. The villain is not good, he's a psychopath with a mask on who breaks a bunch of people out of prison. The plot-twists are so predictable, within 5 minutes I knew what was going to happen. In the end Batman's girlfriend defeats Bane... yeah. Realistically that movie could have been 3 minutes. Bane on the plane with a bunch of armed officers. Officers pull out guns. BANG! BANG! Nobody gets hurt. The end. Overall, I hope Ben Affleck is better.

THE FIRE RISES

The dark knight rises is the perfect ending to the perfect trilogy. It is a billion dollar film and is not the ending we were expecting, its better. This movie takes place 8 years after the dark knight and has bruce wayne crippled and in a depression and the batman a fugitive (taking the blame for harvey dent crimes). The villain bane has come to gotham to fulfill ras al ghuls mission to destory gotham. There is a lot of action and the title character is injured and tortured in the film and the city of gotham has to fight with batman to save the city.
