The Dark Knight: Rises is a really good Batman movie, and a really good movie in general. Despite what people say about their being "absolotly no sexx", I will agree with CSM about it this time around. Speaking of that, onto content!
Violence and Action: Intense scenes of both throughout, but not as bad as the first movie. Many crooks lower themselves on AC cables from a large aircraft to a small one in mid-air; gunfire erupts for an extended period and troopers die(one of the main reasons for the PG-13) and the punks break and cut the small plane into pieces until nothing is left. Bane takes over a city with his band of armed gangsters, shooting several people with automatic weapons; several scenes include murdered corpses in the roads (no blood). Bane steals military tanks and uses them against the cops and citizens, assassinating several people (another reason for the PG-13). Mobsters hold a man down and drain blood from his body into a sleeping one using a needle and tubing. Hooligans shoot up the stock exchange, murder many men and women and tie hostages on choppers. Hostages are freed or rescued. Several police cruisers give chase and are stopped by a large truck pulled across a street. Guys are shown hanging by the neck from a bridge ladder in the distance. Catwoman fights off guys in groups of 2 to 6 throughout the film with martial arts: a few times, she points a gun at the head of one of the guys and shoots a few others in the head; she rides a giant motorcycle, shoots gang members pursuing her in tanks and SUVs (another reason for the PG-13), and launches a missile to blow up a stack of crushed vehicles blocking an underground tunnel. Many kidnappings occur, with sidearm whippings that leave men with scars (PG-13 reason, once again). Men are dragged away through the streets, shot and murdered (Well, there are lots of reasons for the PG-13, this is one of them). Bruce is told that he is missing all cartilage from both knees and elbows and we see scars over his appendix. Many vengeful and long fistfights occur between Batman and Bane (both are injured, but no blood is shown); we hear grunts and shouts. An officer fights off and shoots dead two armed attackers. Gordon is found in a room by Blake, having shot two armed attackers, the pistol shots having been heard. Ruffians blow up sewers and underground tunnels with hand grenades and explosives that explode in smoke and flames; at one point, the entire city is filled with the dust from falling concrete, fire, smoke and falling skyscrapers (basically 9/11). Many scenes include rushing waters in a wide sewer system, with two corpses floating in the water. Killed carcasses lie in a hospital corridor as SWAT team members run through carrying hunting rifles. Selina stands beside a large archery target as a titanic arrow strikes the bull's eye and she screams. Selina somersaults backward out a second-story window to escape capture as a jewel thief and lands on her feet. Bruce is shown falling from a tunnel wall on a number of occasions and is saved by a guide line tied around his waist. This film is not graphic (the camera always cuts away quickly when someone is injured and we see no blood), but the beatings are strong and can upset people.
Sensuality: Some. Bruce and Miranda kiss for a prolonged time and the camera cuts to a view of them lying in the dark by a fire, naked under a heavy blanket (sex is implied: her bare shoulders and arms and his bare shoulders, arms and chest are shown). Many other couples kiss on screen. Bruce and Bane are shown without shirts on in a scene. Selina makes a sexual reference to a guy while dancing with him. Catwoman wears a tight leather jumpsuit throughout the film. Many gals wear cocktail dresses with plunging necklines that reveal significant cleavage.
Language: 1 not fully enunciated "f-word," 1 scatological term, and 1 sexual reference. To be specific, 1 use of "g--damn," 2 uses of "b**ch," 8 uses of "hell," 2 uses of "damn," 1 use of "b*st*rd," and 1 use of "balls," as well as religious profanity.
