Nudity not necessary

It’s a good not too realistic gore or blood with some nudity that I think is not needed in the movie but it’s not too bad it’s a 5 seconds of seeing a Brest it’s not too bad

Great movie

Evil dead is my second favourite movie ever just below hot fuzz. Evil dead is just gory as shit and it's great as mentioned it's gory and bloody as hell but it has minimal swearing from what I remember and doesn't have much nudity although I do recommend younger people like me to skip the "tree rape" scene as it's quite upsetting if you're even just a tiny bit sensitive. Altogether Evil dead is a great movie and if you watched it and enjoyed it watch all the other ones to.

Graphic violence and gore, but the NC-17 rating is unwarranted

Horror violence and gore: Substantial and graphic. Although substantially graphic and gory, the effects are sometimes silly, exaggerated, and even fake-looking. The film has dark comedy (although it wasn't always palpable to me, personally) and it is also unintentionally funny sometimes Zombies/possessed people pick up and lob other characters at objects or otherwise strike them violently. A possessed woman impales another woman in the ankle with a pencil, gore oozes out of the wound as she screams in agony, this was one of the most graphic scenes IMO. A man forces a woman into a cellar and strikes her in the face with the handle of an ax to knock her unconscious. A possessed woman scratches the side of a man's face with her fingernail, gore is visible. A possessed woman falls into a lit fireplace and her face is burning with gore visible when she gets out. Demonic possession makes a woman bite her hand off, you see gore while she chews it and you hear crunching of bones while a man watches in horror. When she is finished she screams in agony and gore is seen from and on the stump. A possessed woman slashes a man with a knife and licks the gore off of it. In more than one scene, a man stabs a woman in the back with a knife, we see gore. The woman then falls on her back, impaling the knife in further. When the woman is stabbed she spits out gore, which also pours out of her wounds. A man chops up a woman with an axe, you see gore each time he draws back and the ax making contact with and amputating the woman's hand and foot. You then see the woman reduced to severed gore that twitches on the ground. A possessed woman is shot in the head with a shotgun, gore is shown. A man hits a possessed woman in the head and face many times as she ridicules him. A woman grabs a man's leg and scratches it until we see bone and gore. A woman jumps into the air and a man knocks her head off with a shovel. You see the body on top of the man, still grabbing at him, and gore spews and sprays in his face while the gore-splattered head comes to life. As a man is trapped in a cellar, the walls ooze gore; a water pipe breaks and shoots gore all over the man. A lightbulb fills with gore pouring from the socket, turning the room red. It is implied that a man was attacked by the woods, we see his face gorily cut and skin peeled off of it. Gore is seen splattered on him and coming out of his mouth. A man shoots a woman in the head and neck, we see gore. A man grabs another man's leg and bites into it, we see a bit of gore. A woman hits a man in the back with the blunt side of a fire poker. In a stop-motion scene, the people possessed by demons rot with graphic gore visible. Their hair falls out and their flesh if not everything else turns to gore. One of the bodies falls on the ground face first, and the head bursts covering a man entirely in gore. Huge hands tear two people possessed by demons to pieces, throwing gore everywhere as gore explodes onto another man. A man's head bursts, gore sprays on another man and onto his surroundings like a hose. Ash gouges his thumbs into the eyes of a possessed man and graphic gore oozes out. He then pulls a piece of wood out of the man and a gore shoots out like a fountain. Many characters (namely Ash) end up completely covered in gore. The most graphic scene of violence, in my opinion, is one with no gore, rather a graphic and unnecessary scene where a woman gets attacked by a living tree.

This brilliantly gory, violent and tension filled nightmare is a bit too much for younger teens

The Evil Dead (1981) follows Ash and his four friends as they stay over night in an isolated cabin. When they suddenly find out that the cabin is ridden with a malevolent force, they are forced to survive the gruesome nightmare that awaits. While The Evil Dead is an extremely gruesome movie with disgusting gore throughout, it is important to notice it is a horror film and should be treated as such, as the violence is hard to relate to real world situations. VIOLENCE: SEVERE A woman is violently attacked by possessed tree vines, which tear open her clothes and pin her down while jabbing at her crotch. It appears the vines sexually assault her before leaving, and she flees injured with blood on her and torn clothing. A possessed woman levitates off of the ground with her eyes gone completely white before she falls and slams into the ground. Out of nowhere she grabs a pencil and stabs it into another woman’s heel, twisting it around as blood oozes out and she screams in terror. The possessed woman slaps and beats everyone in the room, throwing them into shelves and windows and sending them flying. She gets up holding the bloody pencil while groaning disturbingly before she is struck in the face with a wooden stick repeatedly and kicked into a trap door, by now her face is completely possessed and looks very frightening. Her hand is repeatedly smashed as she is locked in the cellar. A possessed woman is suddenly revealed. She grabs a man’s face and scratches it with her long nails, pouring blood down his face. They burst through a door while fighting each other, and the man eventually succeeds in throwing the possessed woman to the ground. Her head lands in a fireplace, where we see her head and face light on fire as she screams in pain. The man pulls her out and we see her smoking, burnt face before she gets back up in an even more disfigured form. She grabs the man again, slaps the other man in the face sending him into a cabinet, and begins to violently choke the man while forcing his head closer and closer to the fireplace. The man then grabs a nice and begins sawing the possessed woman’s wrist with it, causing blood to pour out profusely. Then, very strangely, she starts to gnaw and chew off her own hand in extreme graphic detail. Skin tears off as she rips her hand from her arm, biting and chewing her skin. Her severed hand falls to the ground and we see the graphically bloody stump. Then, the man grabs a large dagger and stabs the woman in the back with it, causing her to scream in pain while she tries to reach for it with her severed arm. Blood pours from the handle of the dagger, and it is a disgusting bloody mess. Then, a disgusting white liquid begins spraying out of her mouth and severed arm. She then suddenly gets back up, and the man chops her head with an axe sending her down into the floor. Then, both of her hands and legs are hacked off in EXTREME graphic detail, with the axe chopping in extreme-closeup with gore focused on heavily. Then, as she is continuously chopped, blood sprays into the air and splatters walls while blood pours down the camera from her perspective. Her severed limbs including her head, legs, hand and torso are shown laying in a gory, bloody mess on the floor as they writhe on the ground. The gore is shown graphically as her hacked up corpse is focused on, moving, on the ground. The woman, who was previously stabbed in the leg, is shown possessed after her wound spreads through her body. A man enters a house with his face torn up and bloody, with open and gross wounds all over his face. His hand is shown seemingly broken off with the bone protruding from his wrist while his friend desperately tries to help him. The demon in the cellar disturbingly mocks the man as he tries to save his bloodied, mortally wounded friend. He starts bleeding from his mouth profusely. A man is stabbed in the arm with a large dagger. The demon who stabbed him begins disturbingly licking the blood off of the dagger and tasting it. The man, after a large struggle with lots of smashing into objects and such, is able to overpower the possessed woman and stabs her in the back with the dagger, impaling her once she falls onto the floor. Blood sprays and pours from her mouth as she writhes before she starts vomiting the gross white fluid again. A possessed woman’s hand suddenly bursts up from a grave and begins tearing and scratching a man’s leg. Blood pours from his leg as she tears it before he grabs a wooden board and bashes her head with it multiple times. The possessed woman then lunges onto the man, but before she can reach him he slices her head clean off with a shovel. Blood disgustingly pours out of the woman’s bloody stump on her neck and onto the man’s face. The fluids pour onto his face as her severed head wriggles around and laughs on the ground beside them. A man blasts a possessed woman in the face/shoulder with a shotgun, blasting a massive portion of her face and skin off with a large splash of blood. Blood sprays out in massive amounts from her shoulder. He then smashes her hand in the door while trying to keep her out. Loads of blood pours from a pipe and comes down in MASSIVE amounts onto a man’s face. The blood pours onto him in extreme amounts before blood starts coming out of electrical outlets, lightbulbs, and the walls. A man shoots a shotgun into a demon woman’s face. A large, gory hole blasts into her face in graphic detail with lots of blood spraying out. A man fights a demonically possessed (other) man, they fight and like usual objects are broken and smashed into. Then, the demons eyes are gauged out in extreme-closeup with blood pouring out everywhere. The fight continues with blood pouring left and right, then the man starts burning and writhing in pain with smoke emitting from his skin. The other possessed woman enters the house, throws the man to the ground and starts violently whipping him on the back repeatedly with a fire poker. Two demons burn to death in a very surreal stop-motion sequence. It looks very unrealistic as their bodies decompose and their heads and bodies fall apart before nothing is left but skull. Then, to further the gory sequence, massive bloody hands rip through both demons chests with their innards and gore bursting out with them as blood splatters and splashes onto another man’s face. Then, one of the demons fall to the floor and its head bursts open into pieces in graphic gory detail, splattering a huge amount of blood onto a man’s face. The disgusting corpses ridden with roaches and gross chunky discolored fluid lie on the ground. LANGUAGE: MILD There is a very, very small amount of language in this film. There are several uses of Jesus Christ and bastard. There is some uses of goddamn, damn, and hell. SEXUAL CONTENT: MILD A woman’s breast and nipple is visible as she is getting dressed. This is brief. A woman is violently pinned down with a tree branch and has her clothes torn open. She struggles to cover her breasts but is forced to let go, revealing her nipple in close-up before the vines of the tree spread her legs and penetrate her from below, seemingly raping her. This is not sexually explicit but very frightening and no nudity aside from her visible breast and panties is shown. 15+ for substantial graphic horror violence and gore

Very gory but silly and somewhat fake looking. There is a scene where a tree uses its vines to rape one of the characters and it looks fake but it may upset some viewers. A lot of the gore is very explicit but in many moments it just looks like it could just be plasticine.

The Evil Dead is great, but very bloody and gory.

What Parents and Adult Guardians need to know is that, "The Evil Dead" (1981) is a great movie. It is gory, entertaining and very enjaoyable. However "The Evil Dead" should in my opinion only be watched or purchased by Mature Audiences, Ages 16 and up only. No One Under 16 should watch or purchase this film. Contains, Brutal Bloody and Gory Violence and a rape scene. But like I said, Older Teens Ages 16 and up should handle it just fine and have a bloody good time. Great movie.
