What's the story?

Award-winning children's musician Buckwheat Zydeco adds a little spice to your life on BAYOU BOOGIE. It's an accordion-filled, toe-tappin' album with 14 traditional and original tracks about dancing and having fun. With special guest singers like Laurie Berkner, Dan Zanes, Maria Muldaur, and Aaron Nigel Smith, among others, kids and families will love getting a lively lesson in Zydeco.

Is it any good?

Buckwheat Zydeco's Bayou Boogie lets children enter the land of the bayou, singing, dancing, and laughing with Buck and his friends. Traditional tunes like "Loop de Loop," "The Loco-Motion," "Twist and Shout," and "Hokey Pokey" get a zydeco twist; the unexpected zesty flavor will get kids off the couch and on their feet. "Zydeco in Space" takes listeners on a journey through the sky above the Louisiana bayous, and "Everything" Hurts" is a cute tune with a French accent that makes light of trying to skip school. The whole album is a great lesson and tribute to the music and people from the land of gumbo.
