Educational Value

Songs teach kids about music, movement, other cultures, roles in society and families, and how to have fun every day.

Positive Messages

Songs show appreciation for life, animals, people, and relationships -- even if it's just friendly gratitude toward your neighbor or for your fruit salad.

Positive Role Models & Representations

The Wiggles' music is great for the imagination and for getting little kids to move -- because they just can't help themselves! A lot of their music incorporates other cultures, talks about healthy eating, and makes kids feel safe and loved.

What parents need to know

Parents need to know that Big Birthday is celebrating 20 years of The Wiggles, and brings along almost 30 songs to give your little fans a lot to dance to, over half of which are live recordings. Many of the songs are already very familiar, but the live versions give it an added "in the moment" feel. And, as if you didn't already know, The Wiggles as we know them are no more, but the music will continue with some new faces, one of which is a female.

What's the story?

Hard to believe, but the colorful fab four, The Wiggles, have been singing to kids for 20 years! To celebrate, Anthony, Jeff, Sam, and Murray have invited fans all over the world to their birthday party with the album BIG BIRTHDAY. It's packaged with enough tracks to fill a big red car, with many favorites like "Hot Potato" and "Fruit Salad," as well as actual live performances.

Is it any good?

Who knew that four guys from Down Under, dressed in eye-popping primary-colored turtlenecks, would become one of the most successful children's bands ever? After twenty years, The Wiggles continue to make little kids laugh, sing, giggle, and wiggle in the studio and in concert. Big Birthday lets fans feel like they're right on stage, with over half the album showcasing live renditions of family favorites. The Wiggles know how to keep the right balance of silly and smart, creating songs that kids just can't get enough of.

Talk to your kids about ...

  • Families can talk about what has made The Wiggles so successful for so long with so many kids. What do you like about their songs? Which ones are your favorites and why?

  • As with any music group, the members often change over the years, and the same has been true for The Wiggles. Does it bother you when a well-known character suddenly isn't there? Does it matter to you who The Wiggles are, or do you just like their music?

  • The album's theme is birthdays; how do you like to celebrate birthdays in your family?
