Parents Need to Know

Parents need to know that "Both of Us" is an extremely positive, clean song about seeing beyond the superficial -- money, clothes, reputation -- and using the tough times in life to become the best person you can be. With just one bleeped-out "N" word and no other questionable content, it's a great pick for tweens and teens.

What's the story?

"BOTH OF US" is the second single from Strange Clouds, the second record from rapper B.o.B. For this track, B.o.B teams up with country darling Taylor Swift. The two stay true to their wholesome roots here, with lots of positive, clean lyrics like "When you feel like you're just another person getting lost in the crowd / Way up high in the nosebleeds / Because we've both been there, yeah both of us / But we still stand tall with our shoulders up / And even though we always against the odds / These are the things that have molded us."

Is it any good?

B.o.B and Taylor Swift give particularly heartfelt performances in this track. B.o.B delivers his meaningful rhymes with what feels like special conviction, and Swift's light, lovely vocals sound especially uplifting. The end result is definitely among the most memorable tunes on the album.

Fresh for both artists

When I first heard that these two were doing a song together, I honestly thought it wouldn't turn out good. But when I heard it when it was released, I was stunned. Apart from one word, the lyrics are appropriate, motivating and uplifting. The song is about remembering who you are through the rough times; don't let superficial values change who you are. The song has a nice and steady beat, B.o.B's rapping hasn't been this good since "Airplanes", and Taylor's vocals are strong and encouraging. These two are a fantastic duo, despite the fact that they are from two very different genres, and I really don't have anything bad to say about this song. It is simply amazing - the best song on the entire record.

Rarest type of rap: The inspiring type

This song is so beautiful. B.o.B and Bridgit Mendler (she has one rap song) are the only rappers I know that make useful songs. Where has music gone to these days? Taylor Swift has a beautiful voice, and B.o.B has catchy rapping talent, making this song beautiful. B.o.B only put one swear word, (the N word that is bleeped out) and the message is great.

Both of us

Oh I'm only rating it 5 of 5 star because Taylor Swift is a wonderful song but I added it as 2 and up because well, Taylor Swift can be for anyone to listen to but just a warning the rapper in this song say the N word but there is a censored version so tbh I don't know who in the world is B.O.B is cause I'm more of a old country music/modern day country music person but I've heard this song on the radio but
