Parents Need to Know

Parents need to know that "Catch My Breath" is another inspiring, positive song by the winner of the very first American Idol competition, Kelly Clarkson. It contains no explicit language or content, focusing instead on relaying many feel–good messages about moving forward in life and love. The tune is a great pick for everyone from tweens to older teens.

What's the story?

Having won the very first American Idol contest more than a decade ago, pop powerhouse Kelly Clarkson has ratcheted up enough chart–topping tracks for a Greatest Hits album, along with one new addition: the single "CATCH MY BREATH." The song chronicles Clarkson's emotional journey from her Idol win to the present day –– with all of the career and personal ups and downs that came along with it.

Is it any good?

Kelly Clarkson was blessed with the type of voice that can make any song sound great -- including this one. Her vocals on this track range from powerful to light and lovely, making it another solid hit for the Grammy-winning singer.

Awesome song with a very positive message.

Ok, for the record, I'm not a parent or am I an educator but I am an adult that is concerned about the kind of messages that is delivered to kids through music. I first heard this song back in 2013 after having gone through some rough periods and it immediately caught my attention. The message that Kelly Clarkson delivers is one of being positive, optimistic and of never letting others define who a person should be. This is a message that I can relate to and in an age where young people and even those that are older are becoming increasingly self conscious over their personal image and their actions as a result of the perception of others, it's refreshing to know that there's music out there that encourages people of all ages to be themselves, love who they are and live life to the fullest.
