"Counting Stars" (CD Single)

Parents Need to Know
Parents need to know that OneRepublic's single "Counting Stars" is a clean track about trying to overcome the stressful parts of life and find greater meaning. With no references to drugs or alcohol or any iffy language, the song is fine for tweens and up. The music video, which shows a Christian revival service, also keeps it clean.
What's the story?
COUNTING STARS is the third single from OneRepublic's third studio album Native. The music video, which was shot in Louisiana, shows the band rocking out in the dingy church basement underneath a Christian revival service. The band is most well-known for their hit "Apologize" and singer Ryan Tedder's work with the likes of Adele, Kelly Clarkson, and Leona Lewis.
Is it any good?
Like all of OneRepublic's previous hits, "Counting Stars" is catchy and fun. The acoustic guitar and twangy beat adds an indie-folk feel to Tedder's usual pop sound, which works well for the band. The scenes of parishioners busting into dance moves after being saved are pretty funny. There's nothing groundbreaking here, but overall it's a good time.
