Parents Need to Know

Parents need to know that "Give Your Heart a Break" is the second single since Demi Lovato's comeback after some very public, personal struggles and a stint in rehab. It's a love song about taking a chance on someone you care about and getting over fears. Although the topic is a mature one, the lyrics and content are OK for tweens.

What's the story?

"GIVE YOUR HEART A BREAK" is the second single from Demi Lovato's third studio album, Unbroken. On the heels of her comeback, the song is an upbeat pop track about facing fears in love and life. The video features a wholesome, healthy-looking Lovato being affectionate but strong in a relationship that just needs a little TLC.

Is it any good?

Lovato seems older and wiser these days, and her growth and maturity over the last few years shows on "Give Your Heart a Break." With strong but vulnerable vocals, Lovato sings "There's just one life to live and no time to waste," and seems to have come into her own, singing about fighting your fears and not being afraid to love.

A More Mature Demi

Strong song about learning to love. It shows a more mature and independent Demi Lavato. The video is a little sensual in places and the album cover suggest a slightly sensual Demi. So I recommend it for kids 14 and up.
