Parents Need to Know

Parents need to know that Kidz Bop Halloween Hits! is filled with more treats than a kindergartner's trick-or-treat bag, all familiar and fun, and completely appropriate for families. There's a track that features scary sounds like moans, chains, and howls -- perfect for a spooky party, but maybe a bit too scary for preschoolers.

What's the story?

Kidz Bop has been producing kid-appropriate Top 40 songs since 2001. KIDZ BOP HALLOWEEN HITS! features 15 popular hits that kids and parents know and love, including "Monster Mash," "Witch Doctor, "Ghostbusters," and "The Addams Family," and even includes contemporary hits like Rihanna's "Disturbia" and Michael Jackson's "Thriller." The last track is a lengthy five minutes of ghoulish sounds that are perfect for setting the mood on Halloween night.

Is it any good?

Kidz Bop takes popular songs and reproduces them with kid musicians and age-appropriate lyrics. This way kids can enjoy contemporary Top 40 songs without the often iffy content. Just in time for ghosts, goblins, and gobstoppers, Kidz Bop Halloween Hits! is a fun way to celebrate Halloween and all things spooky, and is the perfect playlist as you wait for trick-or-treaters. From "Thriller" to "Somebody's Watchin' Me," little witches, pumpkins, and fairies will love ringing in tricks and treats with these songs.

Families can talk about...

  • Families can talk about how to be safe on Halloween when it comes to trick-or-treating. What are some rules that you need to follow?

  • Where does Halloween and the tradition of trick-or-treating come from? Why do we get dressed up in costumes and collect candy? Why is Halloween associated with scary things?

  • How does this music get you in the mood for Halloween? What makes a song spooky?
