Positive messages

Anthemic lyrics such as "I'll be your light, your match, your burning sun, I'll be your bright in black that's making you run" make it clear this song is a positive affirmation celebrating love and life.

Positive role models

The song has an all-over positive message, and lyrics such as "Mama raised me good, Mama raised me right" are refreshing and instill a sense of reverence toward family.

There is no violence in this song. "Starting a fire" is used as a metaphor in the lyrics "and we'll start a fire, and we'll shut it down, 'til the love runs out, 'til the love runs out."

What's the story?

LOVE RUNS OUT is a single by OneRepublic, an American pop-rock band from Colorado Springs. Formed in 2002 by Ryan Tedder and Zach Filkins, the band achieved commercial success on MySpace as an unsigned act and eventually signed with Interscope. "Love Runs Out" is a gospel-inflected pop-rock anthem about faith and love and is included on the reissue of the band's 2013 album Native.

Is it any good?

"Love Runs Out" is a rousing anthem with strong tribal drums, positive and inspiring lyrics, and soaring vocals. The video for the song is just as striking, with its backdrop of setting suns in red skies, majestic horses, dancers with ribbons tied to tambourines, and a beautiful older woman playing the piano. You'll want to turn the volume up on this track -- it's hard to deny this foot-stomping sing-along song.

Good song, Ok positive role model

This song is ok for kids 10 and up, but be aware that this song talks about the devil (Got an angel on my shoulder, and Mestopheles). So watch out for your younger children and listen to this song before hand. Other than that, this song has positive role models and everything the other reviewers said.

Great song!

This song has an upbeat rhythm and very danceable! If it's by OneRepublic, it's going to be good. This song has hidden messages thrown in it that more mature people will understand (11+). No sex involved, nothing about violence, and lyrics are completely clean. I personally think this song is a hit, but the reviews for this is varied on opinion. Listen to this song and see what you think.
