Parents Need to Know

Parents need to know that while the song "Mirrors" doesn't include a lot of graphic adult content or language aside from one use of the word "f--k" and two references to substance use, it has a dark message about being able to rely on no one but yourself. This message makes the song too complex and scary for younger kids.

What's the story?

"MIRRORS" is a dark, introspective track by hardcore rapper Lil Wayne. It's peppered with a few graphic words ("f--k") and smoking/drug references, but the song's real maturity lies in its broader message about how you can only rely on yourself: "I see the pain here in your pride / I see you're not satisfied / And I don't see nobody else, I see myself / I'm looking at the mirror on the wall, here we are again / Through my rise and fall you've been my only fan."

Is it any good?

With an assist from smooth crooner Bruno Mars and some golden-throated backup singers, Lil Wayne creates a brooding, mellow groove in "Mirrors." His own subdued delivery adds to the track's dramatic effect.

Mirror is a thoughtful song.

My favorite song by Lil Wayne. During dark times, I can relate to and vent with this song. There's a f--k and two drug references, but there's an edited version. Overall, it's a great song with wonderful delivery by Lil Wayne, great vocals by Bruno Mars, and deep, dramatic lyrics.

Mirror On the Wall...

Amazing song. Says d*** and f*** but that's all. Kind of dark lyrics too. But it's Wayne's life story. Backing vocals by Bruno Mars is awesome. :)
