Parents Need to Know

Parents need to know that "One More Night" is a mature song in that it describes a guy who can't break free from a physically abusive relationship. It also includes some pretty sultry lyrics about spending the night together. Although the song doesn't have any profanity or explicit sex, the talk about returning to an unhealthy relationship doesn't send the best message to younger kids who are still figuring out what it means to date someone.

What's the story?

"ONE MORE NIGHT" is the second track from the fourth full-length album by powerhouse pop act Maroon 5. Known for lyrics about relationships and love gone bad, the band follows their pattern with this tune about being addicted to intimacy with a girl who's physically abusive.

Is it any good?

In a word-association game, the phrase "killer hooks" would bring Maroon 5 to the minds of many. The guys do it yet again with the simple yet addictive hook that backs this track, infusing it with a just a hint of reggae that makes it all the more appealing.

Families can talk about...

  • Families can talk about why some people continue to return to abusive situations. What are some of the reasons that a person would stay in touch with someone who treated them badly?

  • What should you do if someone you know is in an unhealthy relationship? Who should you tell?

  • Why do you think so many people are attracted to "bad" girls and boys? Can you think of any other songs about being addicted to someone who isn't good for you?

Maroon 5 Song Is Catchey; But Full Of Sexual Content

Parents Need To Know That This Song Has More Sexual Content Then You Think; With Lyrics Like''I Got You Stuck On My Body Like A Tattoo''Which Could Be Sexual Content,And''You And I Go Hard'' Could Fall Into Sexual Content Too.The Song Has Some Mild Language,But They Only Appeer Twice. This Song Would Be Fine If It Didn't Have Too Much Sexual Lyrics.
