Steamy R&B track is full of not-so-subtle allusions to sex.

A lot or a little?

The parents' guide to what's in this music.

Positive Messages

Lots of steamy sex talk; not inherently bad, but just not for kids.

Positive Role Models & Representations

The actions included in this song are meant for adults.

About as sultry as it gets without going into hardcore territory: "Come correct to make a sweat, it’s making us wet / Say my name, say my name, positions we change."

What parents need to know

Parents need to know that "Right There" is a very sexy song, with the majority of its lyrics including not-so-subtle allusions to sexual situations. Though there's no profanity or extremely graphic descriptions, its steamy lyrics are definitely too mature for kids and younger tweens.

not much good

the lyrics aren't THAT sexy... anyway i don't really think this songs much good anyway you'd be better listening to don't hold your breath..

What's the story?

"RIGHT THERE" is the racy single from Nicole Scherzinger, smokin'-hot lead singer of the Pussycat Dolls, and notoriously raunchy rapper 50 Cent. True to their reps, the artists get pulses racing once again in this extra sexy song, which is about as graphic as possible without using profanity or earning a Parental Advisory label. In light of lines like "Me like the way that he put it on me / Me like the way that he push up on me / Me like the way that he goin’ down," the tune is clearly out of bounds for younger audiences.

Is it any good?

"Right There" has an infectious tone that's infused with both R&B and reggae flavors. Scherzinger's solid, upbeat vocals fit well with this formula, with 50 Cent's mellow guest rhymes rounding out the sound.

Talk to your kids about ...

  • Families can talk about the similarities and differences between Nicole Scherzinger's music as a member of the Pussycat Dolls and a solo artist.

  • Do you think she should have used the opportunity of a solo career to try out a different musical style? Why or why not?

  • Why do so many R&B songs have sexy lyrics? Can you think of some examples of songs that don't?
