What's the story?
After the success of the first Shake It Up soundtrack, SHAKE IT UP: LIVE 2 DANCE gives fans another dose of 14 high-energy dance tracks from the popular Disney Channel show. BFFs and diva dancers Cece (Bella Thorne) and Rocky (Zendaya) sing their hits "TTYLXOX" and "Something to Dance For," along with the hit single "Up, Up, & Away" by Blush.
Is it any good?
Shake It Up: Live 2 Dance is a dance party from start to finish, with 14 tracks about the excitement, power, and fun of letting loose on the dance floor. Out of the gate, the first four songs are upbeat, synth-sational tracks, from Adam Hicks' "Whodunit" to "Make Your Mark" by Drew Ryan Scott. "Turn It On" is a tame version and wannabe to Ke$ha's "Blow," right down to the spoken rants, but it's certainly more age appropriate.
Talk to your kids about ...
Families can talk about the success that Cece and Rocky have as dancers on the show. What does it take in order to excel, or do really well, at something like school, sports, or dancing? Do you play a sport or have an activity that you love to do? How often do you practice? Does the hard work pay off in the end?
Shake It Up is about two things: friendship and dancing. Before watching the show, did you like to dance? Has the show made you want to dance more or work harder to be a better dancer?
