Obscure yet likeable

The Cave is clean on the surface. There's a few stray strange references to violence ("You cannibal you meat eater" what are they trying to say exactly?), but nothing explicit or upsetting. The music is good, but it does require a taste for banjo!

I don't see the big deal.

Why are people saying emotional teens could find the images troubling. This song could be a great thing for depressed teens as it's about hope and courage. Very good song, and it's fine for all ages.

e.g. Dark Poetic Lyrics

This song is a kind of folksy (has a banjo) and rather dark poetry. It can appeal to old and young alike, as my husband and 13yr old both like this. The songs hints of suicide but then redeems itself with believing in hope. No language but beware that ALL of their songs are not so clean. The Cave single is fine but the album it is on is explicit, example "Little Lion Man" drops the F bomb as part of the refrain.
