What's the story?

After the popularity of their first volume of hits, the Fresh Beat Band gives fans another dose of tunes from their Nick Jr. show with MORE MUSIC FROM THE HIT TV SHOW, VOL. 2. The album features 20 tracks that little kids already love, plus some covers that parents will enjoy from bands like the Go-Go's, the Beatles, Madonna, and Jason Mraz.

Is it any good?

Although fans of the show will love the music here, it seems that the songs aren't as catchy as the first batch of tunes from the show. But that's a small quibble; all the songs have positive messages and are guaranteed to get preschoolers moving and grooving. The covers of songs like "We Got the Beat," "Twist and Shout," "I'm Yours," and "Holiday" are solid remakes, and the acoustic version of the popular "Great Day" is a breath of fresh air. "Dance Club Superhero" brings a refreshing funky-pop sound, and Yo Gabba Gabba! fans will like the mixes "Keep Trying" and "Silly Bananas."

Talk to your kids about ...

  • Families can talk about music you like to listen to when you're doing different things. What music do you like to listen to when you're playing? Cleaning up?  Ready for bedtime? Why do we like different music for different times?

  • The Fresh Beat Band is a group of friends who like to sing, dance, and solve problems together. What do you like to do with your friends? What do you do if you have a problem or something you can't figure out?

  • What's your favorite song here? Why? Do you like it because you know it from watching the TV show?
