A lot or a little?
The parents' guide to what's in this music.
What parents need to know
Parents need to know that you'll recognize some of the tunes on the Fresh Beat Band's Hits from the Hit TV Show, Vol. 2, because they cover favorites from both the past and present. As always, the songs are clean and appropriate for preschoolers, with positive messages about friendship and not being afraid to sing and dance.
What's the story?
After the popularity of their first volume of hits, the Fresh Beat Band gives fans another dose of tunes from their Nick Jr. show with MORE MUSIC FROM THE HIT TV SHOW, VOL. 2. The album features 20 tracks that little kids already love, plus some covers that parents will enjoy from bands like the Go-Go's, the Beatles, Madonna, and Jason Mraz.
Is it any good?
Although fans of the show will love the music here, it seems that the songs aren't as catchy as the first batch of tunes from the show. But that's a small quibble; all the songs have positive messages and are guaranteed to get preschoolers moving and grooving. The covers of songs like "We Got the Beat," "Twist and Shout," "I'm Yours," and "Holiday" are solid remakes, and the acoustic version of the popular "Great Day" is a breath of fresh air. "Dance Club Superhero" brings a refreshing funky-pop sound, and Yo Gabba Gabba! fans will like the mixes "Keep Trying" and "Silly Bananas."
