Parents Need to Know

Parents need to know that this album has every song you've ever heard from The Fresh Beat Band, and they're all preschool-friendly, groovy, upbeat tunes that will get your little ones on their feet. The songs are filled with positive messages about friendship and confidence, and, unlike some children's music, won't annoy most parents.

What's the story?

Nickelodeon's fresh-faced, groovy foursome The Fresh Beat Band give their fans a chance to rock out with them on their jam-packed soundtrack, THE FRESH BEAT BAND: MUSIC FROM THE HIT TV SHOW. The 20 tracks feature the most popular hits from the show, including the theme song, "Great Day," "Bananas," "Friends," "Stomp the House," "Here We Go," "Just Like a Rockstar," and "Loco Legs."

Is it any good?

Although 20 songs is lengthy for a preschooler to actually listen to from start to end, don't be surprised if yours sticks around for most of the album. At the very least, kids will want to hear their favorite songs over and over. While the vocals may not be the best (especially sans the original "Marina"), the songs are so upbeat and infectious that it's easy to get caught in the groove and seriously want to make your legs "go loco." Little fans of the show won't be able to get enough of this album, and it's a good way to introduce them to the joys music can bring.

Families can talk about...

  • Families can talk about the music here: What do you like about it? Does it make you want to get up and dance? What lyrics do you hear that tell you to dance?  Do you think the music and instruments fit the words?

  • This popular show replaced one of the main characters. Did your family notice? Do you think it makes a difference when a character you like suddenly changes?

  • Does listening to this soundtrack make you want to watch the TV show?

Great Show!!!!

Ths show is really great. My 9 month old son who is now almost 3 got his sister watching this show & she is 7 now. They both love the show, love th dancing & music. They will get up & dance & sing with them. They know most of thier dance moves & music. It's so much better then the other shows I see other kids watch or the music they listen too. I even enjoy watching it & listening to the music. The new Marina is as just as great as the old Marina too. Kids loves them all...
