Parents Need to Know

Parents need to know that this album contains nothing dangerous, other than poor singing set to an accompaniment that may offend some sensibilities. But with so many more tuneful versions of all of these songs, why not expose your child to a higher standard of music?

What's the story?

TODDLER FAVORITES enjoys the dubious distinction of inspiring devout fans but also rabid detractors. Why such varying views? It comes down to how you feel about little children's voices singing off-key. If you find it cute and natural, the album may please you and your toddler, as young voices participate on nursery school standards like \"I'm a Little Teapot,\" \"The More We Get Together,\" and \"The Wheels on the Bus.\" But if you find this type of presentation super-sweet at best, be warned that the kids are led by a female vocalist with a tendency to screech, backed by honky-tonk keyboards and ukulele.

Is it any good?

Depending on your tastes in music, you may find it torture to hear all 39 minutes of Toddler Favorites, or you may find the perky tempos upbeat and enjoyable. In other words, if you haven't sampled the CD and are looking for music for young children, buying this album may be a roll of the dice with excruciating consequences, particularly if your kids adore it and you don't.
