"We Found Love" (CD Single)

Parents Need to Know
Parents need to know that "We Found Love" is a typical rap single in the sense that it features some profanity ("f--k," "s--t"), references to sex and substance use, and plenty of bragging about being the best. While Rihanna's original version is clean and fine for young tweens, this remix is definitely meant for a much older audience.
What's the story?
"WE FOUND LOVE" is a remix of the famous Rihanna single by Timeflies, the Brooklyn-based rap duo who've joined the growing list of music artists finding fame on the Internet. On Tuesday of every week -- "Timeflies Tuesdays" -- the duo posts a new music video to YouTube, including one of this remix that showed the guys performing everywhere from their living room to under the Brooklyn Bridge.
Is it any good?
Timeflies got a musical leg-up with this track by starting with Rihanna's great tune. The guys do a good job with the song, laying down some solid rhymes over the catchy beats. Unfortunately, this tune has much edgier content than the original track, so it will be off limits to younger kids.
Families can talk about...
Families can talk about the growing number of artists like Timeflies who are making it big without the backing of a major record label. What do you think of this trend?
Timeflies wasn't signed to a major label, yet their first album, The Scotch Tape, flew up the chart on iTunes. What were some of the factors that may have contributed to their success?
Name some of the advantages that artists signed to big labels still have over those who aren't.
