San Francisco (October 26, 2021)— Today the Biden Administration nominated acting chair Jessica Rosenworcel as the Federal Communication Commission's (FCC) permanent chair, Gigi Sohn as a FCC commissioner, and Alan Davidson as the administrator of the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA). These are all impeccable choices to meet the critical work facing these two institutions. These nominees bring with them the necessary experience and demonstrated dedication to the public good that is needed to address the myriad of communications and technology issues facing families.
Acting Chair Rosenworcel has an incredible record of working to address the homework gap. Gigi Sohn is a stalwart champion who has relentlessly worked to ensure safe and equitable access to technology for all. Alan Davidson has unparalleled depth of experience supporting fair and open access to technology and innovation. Common Sense applauds the Biden Administration for these excellent nominations and urges the Senate to move quickly on their confirmations.
