Love This Show!!!

My family loves this show. My 5 year old son regularly requests it. He loves that they are making desserts. We love that while the chefs are "competing" against each other, they will occasionally throughout the episode help each other, when needed. So much better than the negative lessons learned from other ultra-competitive reality shows. And for the cherry on top, the desserts they come up with are absolutely amazing. Great show. Highly recommend.

Thought it doesn't exactly break the (chocolate) mold when it comes to reality baking shows, kids who love cooking shows will love this one. The Bake Squad desserts are truly amazing -- a giant dragon egg made out of chocolate, a life-sized drum set dessert, and a cake that looks like spaghetti on the inside and outside. There's no fake reality show drama, and the contestants are all really nice to each other. The only bummer is that host Christina Tosi is an incredible role model in real life, but the show doesn't display her skill and knowledge on camera. She's more of a cheerleader or a "fairy bakemother" who sources special elements to help the chefs complete their desserts. Overall, though, Bake Squad is great family-friendly viewing that may inspire some dessert creations in your own kitchen.
