The Cake Boss reality spin-off offers a look at what goes into running a small bakery. Most of the struggling bakeries are family owned and rely on their local communities to keep them in business. The show highlights some of the many entrepreneurial and baking skills necessary for making these small businesses successful.

Bakery Boss is interesting, but the show's main focus is on Valastro's efforts to help owners resolve some of the family issues that are contributing (at least on camera) to their bakery's demise. These emotional moments are voyeuristic, but the results of the baking drama are usually as sweet as pie.
