Barney actually has some elements and spoilers you might not want your kids being exposed to! In one episode, Barney gets murdered by a little boy, and then the little boy says "Gotcha, b*tch!," and then everyone runs off the area. If you don't know what I'm talking about, look it up on YouTube. There's also hidden innuendo and sexual talk CSM doesn't know about, like in the adult spinoff/revival "Barney with Bad Words," where Barney and the kids talk about the "F" word in sexual context. Also, even in the original series, the episode "Four Seasons Day" had Luci talk about "the birds singing s*x." In two episodes of "Barney and the Backyard Gang," there was some talk from Barney at the ending of the episodes about s*x t*pes and also about a str*p c*ub. Language not surprisingly includes: "h*ll," "G*d," "go*dness," "g*e," "d*mn," "sh*cks," "hu*p," "ass," "asshole," "dick," "shut up," "ho," and even "sh*t." One almost-rejected episode promoted stealing and talking to strangers. The only good things about this show are: the role models, and that Barney teaches friends and little ones how to love each other. Barney the Dinosaur doesn't take any drugs, but it still has the subliminal content I don't think is suitable for children under 14. Between the sex and the language, there was even a "To**hing Kids Uncensored" episode which originally aired on PBS. The 2 stars are for the inappropriate content, but the funny stuff will probably give it a couple more stars. Suggested MPAA rating: PG-13 for mild violence, frequent language, hidden uneducational messages/humor, and some sexual innuendo -- all involving dinosaurs and children. I'd rather show my kids Family Guy or The Simpsons over this or the "Barney with Bad Words" (spinoff) edition piece of inappropriate crap!
